Jon, Mark and Robbo are mates (two of them brothers), who passionately believe that decent quality whisky should be enjoyed and not worshipped. It all started with Jon and Mark heading out for a post-Christmas walk in 2002. As they wandered up Glen Bruar and the nearby Munro, they started chatting. The chat got more and more animated as the conversation turned to whisky. Both of them loved whisky, but hated all the waffle and reverence that always seemed to get in the way of enjoying a glass. They decided their world sneededs whiskies that removed all the waffle, tasted amazing and was for them, not some 80 year old Laird. There are three choices available for their range. The Smokey Peaty One, The Rich Spicy One and The Smooth Sweeter One. The Smooth Sweeter One... The Story... When Jon, Mark and Robbo created their first batch they thought they wanted something quite simple, a whisky that is incredibly smooth and a little sweeter than other malts. To be honest, Robbo struggled. He tried combinations of malts, malt and grain whiskies, just grain whisky and nothing really hit the spot. We then got a helping hand from sThe Docs who mentioned that he knew some guys in Ireland and thought their malt would be just what we wanted. We tried it, it was and The Smooth Sweeter One was born! However, Robbo always felt that he could tweak the recipe and get an even better, softer, sweeter and more fruity malt. So, breaking with convention and taking the maverick path to maximum malt flavour they are proud to present their new creation.... the even more smooth sweeter one - a fab fusion of Irelandss finest with Scotlandss finest - to create the first multi country malt - a cool Celtic combination! Launched on Paddyss day (17th March 2005) they are sure that this will tickle the taste buds even more than their first attempt. Mark raves that this is even more of a nippie sweetie than the last batch. Whatss in it? This is pretty simple. They have kept the great flavour and sweetness from Cooleyss and melded it with some great stuff from Bunnahabhain. 70% Cooleyss Single Irish Malt Matured in first fill bourbon barrels 30% Bunnahabhain Scotch Single Malt Matured in (hard to find) American oak fino sherry casks Robboss Taste Teller What the experts say... Martin Isark ? Scotland on Sunday 2003 Smooth sweeter ? ?smooth tutti fruiti sweetness? May 2004, Wine International Magazine Dave Broom, Spirits Writer. Colour/nose: Straw in colour. Light nose filled with fresh apple, lawnmower box, ginger beer and vanilla. Palate: As the nose suggests, this is delicate and fresh with sherberty fizziness. Comment: A young Irish malt whiskey which would be great for newcomers. Try this summery dram over ice. Score: 87 points.
